Community Spirited are able to offer activity sessions at most care establishments on the island.
We pride ourselves in being able to work alongside care establishments - islandwide - to help deliver a stimulating and enjoyable activity package. Here is a shining example of how, together we can make a real difference to the lives of residents at Trent House Residential Care Homes - in Cowes.
TRENT HOUSE - THEY REALLY LOOK AFTER THEIR RESIDENTS AND TAKE GREAT PRIDE IN THE HOME, INSIDE AND OUT!
I am extremley pleased with the relationship we have established with both the management and the staff.
We know the importance of doing activities within homely environments, especially with the National Minimum Standards in place and the regulations set by CSCI. We are members of NAPA (which is the National Association for Providers of Activities for older people). We also subscribe to the Nursing and Residential journal. These feed us with great ideas on different activities and keeps us up to date on best practice. Here are a selection of photographs taken after a hand massage and companionship session at Trent House.

I would like to share several quotes from the Owner of Trent House. "Bringing outside activity providers into my home has eased the pressure off the staff and also brings in a different face into the home. Jane leaves a portfolio with us and keeps an on-going record of what she has achieved and backs this up with photographic evidence. Jane even sends each client a photograph, one lady has framed it - she is a good companion to them. She sends us attractive posters to display in different areas of the home advertising when she will be with us. The Residents enjoy meeting Jane, being pampered and having a 1 to 1 chat. Jane will also go into the rooms of the residents who do not normally participate in group activities".
"As Jane gets to know our residents she fills out an assessment of activities form which has been extremley useful when deciding other activities. In fact we have planned to have a garden party and to take a small group out for a drive and a coffee as a result of her assessments (it will be with her help of course!)".
We are very proud to offer a special price on group activities. Sessions at care establishments generally last for two hours. The cost of this is £40.00. The portfolio of the activities your clients have participated in will remain at your home with all the photographic evidence. The most popular activity at the moment is our pampering sessions - we gently massage creams into the hands of your clients whilst getting to know them on a one-to-one basis. Most clients participate in this activity, from experience some people lose confidence and if they are asked to do i.e. arts and crafts they panic - this activity is pleasurable and they can relax knowing all they have to do is relax and enjoy it!
When we deliver other activities we prefer to work in small groups to give everyone adequate support. We do not pressurise anyone, if any of your clients do not want to join in then that is fine, we hope in time that they gain the confidence they need to participate. We offer all the activities listed on page 3, we will always consider what each client would like to do. Activity sessions in the community are also available to your clients and are FREE. Details on page 3. We are fully insured and police checked. As you can see from the above quotes people are happy with the services we provide.
**Important - please note we are not a care agency, and therefore, we can not undertake any personal care. At our group sessions if your clients should need assistance it would be necessary for them to be accompanied by a member of your care team** We look forward to hearing from you. Please call if you have any questions or would like a FREE taster session.
One final piece of information - we can also take on the cleaning activities within your home should the need arise.
(Please note that all the residents have given their permission for me to use their photographs on my website - they think it's great - fame at last!).
